yeah. i have a Lexicon hardware reverb and it's really, really lush. big dynamic moving shiny walls of sound.

it does realistic reverbs better than 'fx' reverbs though...

one useful tip for any reverb is to use EQ - either on the signal, or after the reverb. very useful for shaping the sound. also any small modulations you can introduce to liven things up are useful. oh, and don't forget you can layer verb sounds as well!           http://www.myspace.com/aeonaeon

I had two Lexicon units, the MPX-100 and the MPX-1 and the Eventide Eclipse. I had their outputs going into input channels on my old Soundcraft Studio 8 Buss mixing desk, in order to EQ their returns.
The Aux's did not have the EQ bands the input channels did.

The Lexicons where proper lush, but Space Designer is nothing short from those Lexicon units (not the Eventide hehehe), its 10 times more flexible and can do both realistic and exotic reverbs as well...and I can have shit loads of them in a track.

Peace out.

i've never used space designer - it's convolution, yeah? in which case you could probably feed it Bricasti IRs and experience the lushness

the MPX-1 is pretty flexible in some ways - the modulations are wonderful, for instance. you can get pretty deep programming it, but what stands out for me is the quality of the tails at the end of big long-decay verbs. you can crank up length and size and just let it ring out forever.

i use Cubase's REVerence (also convolution) for some reverb sounds; and i use Roomworks (algorithmic) for others. it depends on the flavour. but regardless of the verb i use i think the way the Lexicon handles stereo image is best; and the range of modulations most comprehensive. that's why i really like it for some tasks, and that's why i tend to keep one on a modified Plate algorithm set up as a near-permanent send!

i've never had the pleasure of owning an Eventide but fuck me i want to...           http://www.myspace.com/aeonaeon
