Directions are as follows:
>From the Frisco Area take Hwy. 101 North 2 hours to Hwy. 20. Take the Hwy.
20 exit East 4.6 miles and take a left towards POTTER VALLEY/LAKE PILLSBURY.
Go 6 miles
and take a right on the Eel River/Lake Pillsburyrd. which is the first right
in POTTER VALLEY. Go 3.8 miles to the top of the mountain and take a right
at the fork in the rd. Go 1 mile, cross the bridge and take a right. Go 10.4
miles and take a right at Soda Creek Store.( this 10 miles is a dirt rd.
with minimal pot holes). Go 1 mile and take a left up the hill on forest rd.
M1. Go 5.6 miles ( this rd. has a few pot holes in the beggining to watch
for and the rd. turns to dirt half way up) and take a right
towards Pine Mtn.(there is a small sign on the right). Go a quarter of a
mile and take a right at fork in rd. Continue 4.1 miles(following signs to
Eel River) and stay left at fork in rd. Continue 2 miles and take a right at
"T" in rd. Go 2 miles (watch for potholes) and your there.
>From the north(above Ukiah) go south on Hwy. 101 to Hwy. 20 East and follow
the directions from Frisco from there.

Yeah Michael Malck is me. But it is spelt Michael Malick. Anyways. I am so sorry that I cant go to this party. I was informed 2 weeks before. Which is not enough time for me to schedule days off work. And considering that its about 12+ hour drive away from me I wont be able to show up. I really want gigs. But hopefully my next one will be more local and I will be informed in advance. And I dont spin House/Breaks. I spin Psytrance with my own music that I produce also added into the mix... So yeah. I really want to get on a label. This would have been a great opportunity for me considering all the good artists like Chromatone at the party. Its ok though. I am trying really hard to get gigs. Someone please help me... I just have to keep making music and send out a ton of demos.. If someone wants to help me... please message me. Thanks. Love and Light. -Michael |

Right... try 4 hours. Minimum. 20+ miles of dirt road. Fairly well maintained dirt road, much better than Angels Camp, but this "estimate" really threw off my planning, I was glad we got Mubali there in time for his set. With 10 minutes to spare!
The spot is really spectacular, a forest of dreams type scenario... I suppose being that far out in the boonies is neccesary to make a multi-day campout go unnoticed. I heard the sad tale of how the logging company blocked off the easy access roads out of spite towards local residents... bummer. But as I said, the isolation is probably neccessary for this kind of party.
I could only stay for the first day unfortunately, but if that beginning day was any indicator I'm sure the rest of the party was great as well. If this spot is used again I'll make every effort to be able to stay longer...
That guy with the kayak had the right idea... the river looked awesome.
The sound was great when I was playing, it was the first time I'd gotten to hear close to a full set of my own stuff on a big system. Thanks to all the folks with encouraging comments. Thanks to everyone who actually trucked all that stuff out there for this party... and extra thanks to Wichdokta for making sure I didn't get stranded all the way out there. Faulty gas gauges no es bueno...
You guys that drove up from LA are the REAL troopers. Dang!

yeah, it was really far. 2.5 hours on the freeway and then another 1.5-2 hours on confusing dirt roads! eeek. but the location is beautiful and worth the drive in the end. Reverse directions for the return trip might have been a good idea for those of us who's brains were not functioning at full capacity and found it hard to follow the directions backwards (!)
The whole party had a really mellow vibe. Rockin sets from Zul and Amanda....
i wish that at the river stage there actually would have been downtempo stuff playing rather than booty house. i was laying in the sun relaxing and hearing songs like "in the sunshine, it feels nice... repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat...." and "cocaine..." 
All in all, it was a great weekend. Didn't do much dancing but fully enjoyed the river and the scenery!!!
