hi

this is one those questions just waiting for a "do what sounds best" answaer.. but... (as i need to increase my post count, lol )

i've heard about tracks in 152, 158, 162, bpms...

are those velocities real usable?

i once did somthing at about 210, but wont consider it real music... just a lot of flanged bleeps

i'm not talking about goa or dnb, but the gold old fullon (be it israli, russian or french. other countries also apply )

pleaseeee

There is an old track at 165 BPM that sounds good. I seem to recall it was by The Infinity Project but I'm not entirely sure. And isn't Conga Fury 155 BPM?

I probably have the tracks wrong but that is a good thing: Which sane person remembers BPMs of 10 year old tracks?

But modern tracks with 16th note basslines sound faster on average anyway. The art is to get the energy from the composition rather than the tempo. After that I can pitch them up a bit in my DJ sets to give even more energy.

OOOD's first release "Silence" was 157 bpm; we also released a track called "Rifa" which is 166. We wrote a track called "Black Dot" which clocked in at 180 but this was never released - or indeed danced to with any degree of satisfaction!

Any tempo is 'usable' if you have the necessary compositional skills to make it not sound silly, and the necessary production skills to make a kick/bass combo sound good at that tempo. However for the purposes of trancing, going too fast can be counterproductive.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Conga Fury is around 160 I think.

IMO though, everything over 150 is way too fast.

YEP! I´m with u on that For me 140-145 is the best range...

Some tracks at 150 sound ok but in a party I think they are way too fast...(good for the E lovers...)

i like to physicaly express the psy feeling, pictures and storys in my head while in trance , any thing thats above 145 is to me work out music for the body , thingS are just going to fast and thus leaving out the head part where the psy goes on, its just hard core techno music TO ME! 132-140 thats where I THINK trance should stay at ,
