I know this is a silly thread. But hey. I'm just curious.
What do you think is the best year of the best releases in all genre's among the elecronic and psychedelic scene overall?

does the best year make a difference to the present quality of music being churned out by the numerous labels.............
will ascertaining the best year for releases serve the as a benchmark for music that is goin to come in the furture............
music evolves.....learn to evolve with it........sadly these days the evolution is taking place in the wrong manner in most cases
bOm!!!!!!

1996!The golden year of original psychedelic trance!A lot of releases and the strange thing is that the most of them are masterpieces!I beg for a timemachine.

TIP - "Mystical Experience"
Mystery Of The Yeti 1 & 2
The Kumba Mela Experiment - "East of The River Ganges"
Digital Mystery Tour - "Digital Mystery Tour"
Twelve compilation (TIP World)
Carbon Based Lifeforms - "Hydroponic Garden"
Life Is... compilation (BNE)
and many others from the ambient scene, much more interesting and emotional than most trance and techno |

1985 (not really but they had some crazy parties)
I vaguely remember a party in Goa when I was 7 years old... I dont think the music was psy yet....
it was my dad's birthday party... I fell asleep...
Goa Gil was playing music... after a few hours my dad asked him if he could play... Gil said 'either I play, or I leave its up to you...' My dad said he wanted to play, so Gil stopped playing and left (I guess even then he had his 'play-for-the-whole-party-or-nothing' philosophy. Anyway... the party went on, supposedly was very good... I woke up at sunrise.... probably half of all the party people in Goa were there (100 people ) those were the days, what a childhood....

Janux/// no comments...
But... for me the 1997 was the best...
Too many beautiful tracks (and still too many unreleased)...
Making music for music itself...
I could stay on the dancefloor whole party long...
The music made me stay...
XHPOME was the result of experiments with my nickname. It transformed in such a strange way when I used greek letters for "Chrome" :)... |
