Can someone share the best ways and how they speed up samples?
For example I have a vocal sample or even an export of my kick and bass.. and want it to go from slower to faster...
(i tried adding a delay and changing the delay time but its not so good results) Any other ideas?
Trying to figure out the technique and what plugin to use. Help appreciated. Thanks
Jeto

I think that pitching up/down will not change the tempo, only the key... Maybe I´m wrong.
But Jeto, do u want to make a vocal starting at 100 bpm and finishing at 150... or do u want to make a whole 100 bpm vocal at 150 bpm???
For first option I would recoment Ableton Live. Make an automation on tempo track, and be sure u´ve wrapped the loop. I´m still learing how to make it good, cause I can hear too much "granulization" on the sound. Even on Ableton Live 5....
For second, I only know time strech option.

yes timestrech is the only option and indeed in samples that need to much speed up in bpm like from 100 to 150bpm granulizing artifacts will ocuur whatever you do its just to much!!
better pay a singer to do it!!
or iff the vocal line has no music in the backround you can cut it in chunks like drum loops this helped me once or twice! but not the best solution

do you want the sample to start with a low tempo and end with a high tempo? you mean a pitch bend? soundforge is the way
if not... you'll have to combine the pitch up\down and the timestretch methods (first pitch up\down as much as you can without making it too high tone and then time stretch what is still needed... also the slice method can help). oh and there are voice processing plugins (most of them... voice machine, avox...) that can change the pitch of a voice without changing it's tempo. you can use it to atenuate the effects of the pitch up\down. |

Well, I'm at school right now and can't really recall exactly how the "gooogliee goooglieee" sounds. But the way I remember it, and this is my amateurish guess, it could be achived by slicing up the part into smaller portions and then play with time stretch and also pitch bend. In cubase SX 3 you can change the octave of an audio part by changing the preadjusted zero value in the transpose field, which can be found in the info line. But you'd probably need pitch bending in semitones and I don't think that can be achieved by adjusting the transpose value.
Arh, this was a quite useless reply, I feel |

the time strech has like an acceleration bend or somehting like that im not in front of my comp now but if you have cool edit pro guive it a try u will find it |

just use the pitch shift function like e-motion said.
you can only use it on an audio file -right mouseclicks on the audio file-effects-pitch shift
