Hmmm - dunno about trilogy sounding like a mini... Try before you buy or you might be disappointed. The electric/acoustic basses are excellent but it seems for the synth basses they only have one sample (the bass guitars are multisampled) so when you do quick basslines its the same sound repeating over and over again. Which sounds a bit, well, crap. In isolation (i.e. when you're auditioning presets) I guess it could sound like a mini, but it definitely doesn't in use.
Also, the filters in the engine are poor which lends a sameyness to sounds that are heavily filtered. Still, you can get around this if you insert a decent filter plug into the channel...
Then, back on topic, I like the following VSTis:
reaktor 4
absynth 2
oddity
fm7
pentagon
z3ta+
stylus
battery
And I know they're not VSTis, but I really like the following creamware synths:
minimax
pro one |

Then soft romplers it is .
I still like trilogy though. Did not get stylus yet but i am sure I am going to love it also. |

Hi ppl. . .
Well. . . my favourite Vst instrument at "da" moment is Pro53,cause i like a lot the "Nasty" caracteristic of this synth , and you can make a lot of different styles of sounds on this one(like. . .if you want fx you do exelent fx, you want ambients you do exelent ambients, you want some agressive sinthese, you can make exelent agressive sinth. . .)its realy good synth.
But i like a lot the Absinth too,for the greatest ambients that i ever seen on Soft synths.
