Hi!

I would like to start making some painting i have on my mind, so o wanna ask: what is the best kind of textile to use as a backdrop? And what kind of paint do you use? Acrylic? Oil? Tempere??? Any brands? Links... Appreciated!

Hi Muzik!

Best textile for backdrops is 100% rayon. It's cheap but very soft - similar to silk. It's more thin, soft and silky than cotton.

Wich paint to use depends on wich teqnique you want to use - batik? Then you'll need very thin paints wich are used for silk-painting.

If you want just straight painting with your brush, then use thick acrylyc paints.

Brands (for both techniques) -Javana, Pebeo, Jacquard, Marabu etc..
