hello people, i have a cool opportunity to build my studio from scratch. Expecting to get the construction work started in 6 months or so. Was wondering what you folks' advice gonna be. I have read rectangular shaped rooms are better and easier to treat. What do you think i should go with? Let me know if you've come across articles that discuss this in depth. Thanks

The less corners and the more rounded, the better your room! Add to that insulation, rockwool from top to bottom on all walls (make sure you use sound proofing rockwool and not temperature insulator...) and on the ceiling, covered by cottonwool material that lets through waves and thick carpet on the floor and you will be in excellent shape! Avoid material such as glass or hard material per se as it reflects waves, think soft!!!

And end up with a dead room and translation problems !
With that much, you will need to add some diffusion to get back some decay at mid & high frequencies.
