Don't know what the best card is, but Echo cards are good, ( Gina, Layla,...) RME have good cards (Hammerfall) and MAudio (Delta series)... Check out artist sites and see which card(s) they use and then listen to their music and get a feeling of what the cards sound like... |

For now i'm working without soundcard ,
i do all my tracks by midi with hardware only .
And i've got some shitty cheap built-in scard that i
use only for preview (i can't actually record with it)
because of the crappy quality of his AD/DA's .
So what i'm looking for is maybe some kind of
digital scard (without analogue I/O's) only SPDIF
or AES/EBU stereo I/O . No ADAT, TDIF or any of
those multichannel interfaces , and most important
is Mac OS drivers and ASIO compatebility .
What can u guys recommend me ? |

I think Mark of the Unicorn got great recording soundcards with S/pdif and Aes/EBU only i/o. Don't really have the time to check this all out, but I'm sure I saw something like that...

like all said its not a question of best but your budget, i guess pro tool and pulsar are in the top, but in the mid range you can go on the rme, my fav, and also with a larger budget you can get the one wich is a seperate device not in the computer helps keep noises of the com system out of your way
( naybe that way you wont need to compress everything )

If you have around 5000NIS u r without a doubt have to become a lucky and happy owner of
RME Hammerfall Multiface HDSP card that just DOESN'T have ANY competition in it's price level and I would say twice high as well.
For more go to http://www.rme-audio.com
Why is this the BEST ever?
1. Because it just works and works and works.. and doesn't stop...
2. Because it's converters are the BEST ( RME / Apogee ) in any case make the converters for all the high end cards.. Including Motu BTW.
