ok so mostly am going to be looing at making 4/4 style, and FLstudio 8 is what I'm checking out as it is at a price I can afford.
The the thing is I also love playing with broken beats and enjoy layering pads and twakeing stuff into ambeint adn glitchy soundscapes.
Is FLStudio8 good for this kinda of stuff as well?

Sure, as is any major sequencer. Just try everything before you buy anything...it's all preference.
