maybe it's just me, i think vanguard has a lot of potential but there's something about it bass that makes me sick, find it very good for hi freq... leads, hi hats,...

Cut off that Bass that makes you SICK with an EQ, you probably heard Vanguard in your favorite traxs and loved it.

enertopia my complain was exactly the oposit aBOUT vanguard (no bass) but i guess your advice works either way alias that was something i did a lot when i began producing eq everything.... a lot.... only in an absolute catrastofic way, time to apply my new knowledge and start eq'ing again.......

I agree with the already mentioned synths and i add the Noized SineX to the list.
At the moment it is still avaible via my tiscali webspace, but i am no longer customer of tiscali so it will be deleted next month. I will have a new website in near future, so sty tuned, also for an update of the SineX.

y dont u try greenoak's crystal?? its free and can produce out the place sounds including pads, atmospheres, leads, basses, and sequences.....u can download countless banks ad presets frm www.patcharena.com |

i've managed to get some nice ambient / pad sounds out of the v-station. atmosphere is also good for them.
something that i find helps give a good pad a 'full' sound is to play the same note over 3 or 4 octaves. you can always eq out the parts of it that are clashing with lows / highs (if any), but the fact that those notes are present will just make it sound a whole lot fuller

i like the H.P. Fortune plugs too for ambient sounds , industrial,dark atmosphere.i think all synth are great for pads,just take a good lead and play with the envelop and you have a pad,the key is the reverb i think. |
