this is a issue i'd really like to get better, i only seem to like them using a lot of sinths at the same time, is this the only way or is there a special sinth/VST for this purpose??? thks

file under: equipment and music creation!
anyhoo:
the more pads, drones & efx on top of each other the merrier . but remember to mix them carefully or you end up with some blurry, distorted noise.
my faves are the xv-5080, jp-8080 and virus (take a pick) but i guess there are lots and lots of more synths (and software) which do the job nicely.
rememember also the efx: reverb, delay... ssSSPPAAACCCEEee!

... yes maybe that the most logical place, but i thought that as they're a lot more explored in chill than trance it could come in here... thks Outolintu
i'll try to move this topic over there

THKS got that protoplasm demo and it works for me too, incredible freeware, already heard about atmosphere but it's a bit " complicated situation" octopus is very good too but it eats a lot more of resources then protoplasm

Prtoplasm rocks. Free version has only 2 voices though. Full version has 8 voices plus you can load your own wavetables (if the 50 supplied aren't enough for you).
Costs $50. Good to support the designer on this great instrument. Laser Blade not so useful, haven't tried the other ones yet. Latest version of Protoplasm just recently released.
