I think it doesn't really matter what IR-vst you're using, because the quality of the reverb depends all on the IR you're using...not the application itself !!!

A convolution reverb is a plugin for sound editors like Digital Performer, ProTools, Logic and Cubase VST. It is a room simulator and it works with samples from real acoustic spaces. These spaces are 'captured' using a special sweep tone played by a speaker and recorded by microphones in the actual space, or by firing an alarm pistol and recording that with microphones. A convolution reverb adds the same sound to any sound that it is used on as what the room did to the gunshot or sweep. This sample is called an impulse response, in short: IR.

All the IR plugins sound the same. SIR is free. ConvoBoy is cheap. Pristine Space has lots of features, IR1 has a good impulse library. Choose on features

SIR... no need for anything else... if i want TC, i'll get the impulses, if i want 960SL, i'll get the impulses, if i want LA2A, u get the point...

ok, there are better impulse response converters, but if freeware can do it wel enough, i'm not gonna put in the money...

i used to use ambience, but it's not nearly as good as ImpulseResponce based plugins (which can be used for other things then reverb). Also, i really LOVE using IR's from real spaces... like a forest

tc reverbs have a great sound, if you don't want a card, try the tc native reverbs... you will see (hear) how good tc reverbs are - although the native ones are no where near the powercore ones, you still get the same 'sound' ... btw, tc have stopped making native plugins to focus on protools and powercore plugins, so you will have to find an old version of the tc-native vst.
