Point to note though ... you intend to play this track at midnight. A lot of the morning oriented tracks would seem out of place, dont u think?
My vote goes to something non-fullon playing till midnight (SonKite) and then full blast as soon as it strikes 12 (Neuromotor/Azax/Kindzadza) |

I was thinking about this the other day, funny.
There I'm sure there are lots more tracks I would find perfect to play at 12 o' clock, but the one I was thinking of is Pixel & X-Noize - Beats From Beyond.

for the NY 2004 Me and my friend played the countdown from Talamasca's track from The Secret Of The Thirteen Crystal Skulls ( i cant remember was it 1st or 5th revelation...) right on midnight. Its the track with the sample 10..9...8..7...computer, iniciate self destruct . It was great, because all people on the dancefloor thinked that the track will continue after that build up, but we've mixed it with juno reactor "masters of the universe". When the singing started, the crowd went wild

You're going to waste any tune you drop at that moment. Everyone is hugging and kissing and running around to find their mates and wish them a happy new year. Just play some count down sample or something so you can sync them all into saying happy new year and celebrate the start of the new year in unison.
Give them a chance to hug, kiss...etc and then drop your phatest tune to kick off the new year in a belting manner.

Make sure the main melody take-off/start comes at 00:00
