Hey, I mix between full on and prog all of the time, I cant figure out which the dance floor likes better? I am into remix pop songs personally, and the prog is still driving. what you think. We do it and it works, but lets us know your thoughts

Why doesnt anyone concider the trippers anymore?
Everything evolves around the dancers, and everyone forgets about the tripper .. *buuhuu*

.. I'm a crappy DJ. I dont beatmix alot, but I prefer to blend the ending of a track with the intro of the next. This is specially if I'm playing older israel tracks like IM, Oforia ect. Would you then dislike me as a DJ since there's a small beatless break between the tracks, or would you not care because the music is so killargh and it's nice with a break here and there to finger dance?

This thread has officially been hijacked by psytones.

beginning trancers love fullonfloors....trippers will dance to anything as long as they are well but love dark psy and minimal. Proggy is the best music. they all require bitchin sound systems so eq that shit right and dont cause nightmares....
oh and psytones there are tons of threads about the wonders of beatmatching...personally when i pay or travel far for a party I expect all trance djs to layer kicks...even if your track selection is brilliant layering kicks will make your set even MORE POWERFUL
peace!

Fuck I'd want to strangle the dj who plays some proggy heaven and then suddenly drops in a "full on killargh"

what the dancefool likes more?

depends on the dancefloor, no?

the best trance set would really suck if the people came to listen to hiphop

adapt to your dancers, amigo           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

well es long es its "organic" in the flow then i guess its cool to mix styls but the more important thing is the "way" and "when" question rather then the "what" (like, way this treck and is it the righat timing in my "story") this is when u choose the trecks i meen.

I agree with playing what you like while paying attention to your audience I can appreciate a pop psystyle remix for creative purposes and production quality but (with all respect) I have no interest in hearing such things at an outdoor party. In a club setting maybe, but once I'm unleashed into the wild the last thing I want is to remember the world I'm taking a break from. Thanks for asking

hey, think I was a littl drunk last night, let me recap.
I play with two other guys (no, not like that!) and it is really intersting becasue we all have diffrent tastes of psy. We play in clubs alot and I am really into stuff that trancers from other genres or people lnew to the scene can get into, Chris is into layerd driving stuff that is really melodic (in my opnion the most psychedelic) and Tyson loves droping a prog track (we go one for one, two for two sometimes). It is a really intresting result that can take the audeince through a range of sounds in short time, it is all mixed to the same tempo, just wondered what the trancers of the world thought.

Whatever works works - Any other opinions and thoughts do not matter as long as you succeed in what you do, success speaks louder than words.
