Best place to find remix competitions?

Hello all,
I've started looking for psy remix competitions lately and of course all the ones I could find seemed to be done and dusted already. Any good places to check for up and coming events?

Indaba lets free users pick 3 contests, and of course you don't have to submit anything if you dont want to/miss the deadline. The stuff they offer for remix covers pretty much all kinds of modern, more mainstream music, and personally Ive only found 2 I was interested in in the 2 years or so since I joined (but i havent checked in a long time).
I got in on the contest for 3 of Daft Punk's tracks from Tron Legacy, and it was fun working with the stems, even if I missed the deadline. Just seeing some of the things those guys do in the studio that you wouldnt realize they do just by hearing the final tracks is pretty nice.
FYI- when you do submit a piece, it becomes the property of whatever record company offered the contest, and you're technically not allowed to use the stems to make your own stuff for release other ways.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out here mostly then but will check out indaba.
If anyone has any other sites or labels that host these competitions more often than others it would be great to know. |
