Yo, Gypsy....
Though I totally inderstand your position regarding the need to 'branch-out', I must say that I personally would really miss you and Daizee, and all that the two of you have brought to our modest community here in Colorado. If you're willing to weather the ebbs' and flows' of Denver, I think great things will once again be brought into being.
My move to the mtns. some years back really cut down my involvement in event production, but I feel there is enough dedicated headz here to make collaboritive events work again down the road...not just mtn. vision or paradigm or onetribe, but all of us working together again for our common vision...and like I said, you and Daizee have really helped bring that back into focus here
But you have to follow your hearts...and if that takes you elsewhere, then that's how it's meant to be...you'd be missed, but supported!

Thanx Mukti,
Dont worry we are not going anywhere soon... and we would miss you very much as well.
Our plan was to be in the front range till 2012 then possibly heading overseas to Australia.(If we are all still here of course)
We are just doing some research on the states, and feeling out the hot spots ya know?
Dont get me wrong either, I have loved being in Denver and the Vibe here is very good when you can get people out.We are able to enjoy such a huge array of things in the Mountains of Colorado.Onetribe has been keeping the spirit of the psy alive here and continue to be the back bone to the Psy scene with help from Wacky Shack and now Paridigm and Mtn. Vision.
The ball is rolling I can see the tribes working together soon enough, and I dont see any of that failing due to use leaving.
I see many good things in front of us, and we will continue our helping energies where ever we go whether it be just to visit another chapter of our Psyfamily or to up-root and replant elsewhere.

Philly has
Gaian-Mind Monthlies at Zot showcase great local, regional and global talent
Gaian-Mind Tea Room chillout sessions once a month
Usually one or two houseparties or random psy events for peoples birthday per month
Pine Barrens Outdoor almost every Full moon from april to oct/nov
NYC is within 2 hr drive ...accessible directly by train. Lots of international artists to choose from between Philly and NYC due to the proximity of Europe |

yeah in Denver it's always been more about the party, not so much about the music. just how we roll.
but i think there's plenty of family vibe here, just not really at psytrance events much anymore.
  ..it's just another party.. |

| That sucks, cause thats what usually sets the trance scene apart from e'thing else. You lose that, then what fun is your party??

well when folks concentrate more on partying, the parties can only get better. Plus it feels nice not to take TRANCE so seriously, for a change.
but I digress.. To answer the original question, I think that coming from the Northwest, you will always miss that open-mindedness, Oregon/WA/Northern Cali is probably the most progressive forward-thinking region in all of North America. So I don't know - maybe check out the college towns - Austin, from I hear, has (or had?) a decent scene on the rise - or maybe Madison, Asheville, Iowa City, those sorts of places.. Or maybe even Boulder?

I think you should definitely come up for the show we have in July. you should probably also check out Scred Earth in WI. Hit an Iopa show, too. That would be a good cross section of what the midwest has to offer...

The problem here is that some of us organize, plan, and execute far better than others, I'm sorry to say. The Trance community has been slowly building back up in Denver for the last 5 yrs, and a lot of that has to do with the Paradigm Collective staying the course, booking international headliners, executing more events than anyone else here at the moment, especially open air gatherings on private land that we found within 40 mins of Denver, and possessing a soundsystem that is untouchable within 1000 miles. Doing "community" events that you all like to organize with everyone "pitching in" and basically donating everything for free doesn't really hold much weight in the long run.
As the only full time production/promotion/pro audio person, especially within the Trance community around these parts, who also invests in other crews' events, I find it difficult to have desire to organize shows with any of the other splintered crews around here as the organization and promotional skills just aren't there at the moment, and as this is part of my job, I'm pretty neurotic when it comes to organization and the details of an event.
I'm certainly glad Onetribe is still mentioned around here as they did many things years ago before taking a break, and MTN Vision has done a few smaller things, but as far as consistent gatherings, especially on private land, in the last 4 yrs, we at Paradigm along with some consultation from Schmid at Wacky Shack, are keeping the existing Trance scene alive in Colorado, and building towards a larger culture within the next 5 yrs.
No one is organizing the quality of shows we have been doing, especially outdoors, and no one has been bringing headliners such as we have over the last few years.
We've worked with Moontribe many times, some Green Sector folks, and we've brought acts like Antix and Ecliptic for their 1st CO appearances ever last year, to name a few.
We also own a Turbosound Aspect 880 system, 28 cabinets of aural bliss, something no other crew actually possesses on an international level in their inventory.
I do appreciate what some other crews have done in the past, and I often see here that proper credit is not being given to the crew that has been working the hardest to provide an international, more festival style gathering for the last 4 yrs.
I'm sorry to say that MTN Vision, although you are great people, you solely are not "rebuilding" anything around here, it totally already exists and is moving rapidly towards having the following I have been working on for several years.
This website, although a nice resource, holds ZERO weight in this town, and where the attention should be, Unnet.net, shows our level of popularity and where it has come from.
We will stay the course, and we will continue to execute quality events...this culture has many wonderful things to offer, and we're very excited about exposing new people to it. As I work with and do audio for just about every crew in town, no matter what the genre, I have my finger on the pulse of CO's EDM scene, and within that scene, our Paradigm crew has made quite an awesome splash.
A nice, excitable buzz exists around town, and even other promoters visit our gatherings as a way to escape normality. For now we have consistently 200-300 people at each show, and the average age has been roughly 27, a wonderful detail that allows the shows to run much more smoothly.
Other than that, I have to say I've always loved Green Sector parties in SoCal, especially when they were all still at Gold Creek Ranch....Gawd I miss that place.

umm, Alex, you do deserve credit, and i def. agree with the organizational part of it, but let's not make this into a pissing contest. You've thrown some decent events over the last two years, but they are still small and have ways to go before becoming festivals.
it's still a very small scene just like it was 2-3 years ago when we'd get 100-200 people at our warehouse parties. these days the free donation-based family events bring out a whole different crowd are just as vital as the more commercial events you've been putting on. it's the free events that built the scene here over the years, so let's not trash them quite yet.
