I asked myself which is the best Online-Musicstore to make sure that the artist get as much as possible for his release and not any company with too high dues.
Maybe you have an idea? |

Today you can sell directly from your website, its easy and you get the 100% of the value....imo is the best way.
The advantage of a music store its the high audience...but you can also make available in both ways, and enjoy the all advantages.

I try to shop at Bandcamp (http://bandcamp.com/), where the artists usually net around 75-80%, and don't have to deal with order processing. Bandcamp also gives me the opportunity to preview every track in its entire length. |

Which on the other hand decreases sales significantly, just because people hear the whole track on bandcamp, instead of a part which makes them want to buy the rest...
also, artist actually retain 90% from bandcamp related sales !
what is the best sales option? That my friend is a very good question, that a lot of artists are asking themselves... please let me know when you know... Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Good thought, though what you ask mostly depends on how much the labels decide to pay the artists. Bandcamps system is most efficient for independent artists for sure.
