So a recent discussion on another forum prompted me to ask this here - what is your "best kept secret" VST instrument or effect, and what do you use it for?
Doesn't have to be a total secret, just something that might not be common knowledge for other trance producers.
- Mine would be Ohm Force's Ohmicide (multi-band distortion with some powerful dynamics processing), but the other forum informed me that it's not really much of a secret anymore. That being said, I don't hear much talk of it in the trance scene, so hopefully I can bring it to someone's attention.
It's a fantastic drum processor, and bass if you are making glitch or even dub/downtempo. But it really shines on leads or on a group bus channel to chunk things together. Also absolutely fantastic on hi-hats if you get into the real nitty gritty of its noise gate.
It's not free, but give the "try before you buy" version a go and you might fall in love with it.

Ohmboys Hematohm for weird forest leads and fx. I can do an album on that thing! Also their delay unit with its lfo on delay time is the shit.

yeah Ohmicide is a lot used, it s more known in dnb ,dub step production scene.
i m thinking but i think i don't have any..don't make much music but maybe mashine if it count? this thing realy help for the beats, i can say there is before and after maschine in the result , beats are way more fun to program and there is everyhting needed to get it tight and groovy ,if your beat are boring it could maybe improve them with the worflow and fun |

reaktor not much talk about it but there is loads of amazing stuff, from fx to mangler, to granular stuff to synth... there hundreds of amazing ens in the user lib.. twisted tools also great, if i could have only one thing it would be this wihout a doubt (and logic for using it  ) |

one worht trying is reflektor;, the few times i triped on this i really enjoyed it, it can be used like usual verb to totally twisted fx, never a talks about it.. |

also some years ago i built a very simple vector synth in synthedit, just 4 oscs on x/y axis for mixing their levels, and an amp adsr.
the thing here is that the oscs are soundfont oscs. i wanted something cool to take advantage of the huge world of .sf2 files, and get some heavy layering going.
it was a simple experiment, but i still use this plug in many many tunes, usually to layer corny cadenza string .sf2 files 
never put this online as it is very simple and uses no gui and the stock synthedit graphics. but it sure came in handy over the years.
if haven't touched synthedit in probably at least 4-5 years, but if i ever do again i will make a sophisticated version of this.

it's not a secret about a plug in in general but: fab filter volcano, 3rd preset i don't remember the name(alien something)and adjusting it a little bit, with trancegate and some ping pong delay, i was freakin out when i discovered this combo |

loop little bits of sounds (really short bits in sampler) for cool granular sounds, the default drum rack preset has this ability |
