damn acutally i love rought sound.. think i m gonna start some tunes wihtout carring much to production as long as it s phat with big dynamic. you can turn this freaking loud it wont hurt your ears, it might just explode your speakers

totally unmixed, rought output ,sound like stuff from the 90s , kinda primate rec/ trance combo
updated with sorter release on kick bass, tunes are fucked up..
i m sure that sound like crap for most... but taht sound kinda talk to me ! add some good fx on top.. acid leads.. 100% rought analog sound wihtout any processing

how the sound breath i really like it....but it sound a bit strange when no sound on top...
there is not 2 drums hits or bassline notes identical.. it all evolve , creating movmeent,nothing is static
i wish i had a xox and a desk ... make the core of tunes by live jamming ...
how much cost a xox mate? there is few different version if i m right?

I got mine built by Andy Pledger and it was 600€ included shipping.
There is also the TT-303 which also sounds brilliant and looks exactly like the TB-303 with a different logo strapped on it.

Nope, slight differences in the sequencer apparently, but feature wise, they are clones and offer the same.
I really like the x0xb0x sequencer, very easy to use. That bassline test sample I posted is the x0xb0x sequencer doing the sequencing, synced to Logic Pro.
I should also add that that clip I posted, the dry x0xb0x sound had very little bass in. It had the x0xb0x resonance about midnight and then dialed the frequency knob at around 10 o' clock.
The x0xb0x (as the original 303) did not have a massive bottom end, light on the subs for sure.
The bass comes from overdriving the MF-103 and then playing with the SWEEP (frequency) parameter to exaggerate the bottom end (no EQ/compression). I intentionally added a part at 2:12 onwards to demonstrate what the Moog phaser does to the timbre as it sweeps, you will notice that the bottom end gets striped at certain frequency settings and then massive bottom end is added from the phaser at different frequency settings, as it sweeps through.
The good thing about this, is that you can tune the SWEEP/frequency parameter of the MF-103 to a value that makes the patch sound huge and then you can adjust the effect to your liking by playing with the Resonance of the phaser.

If you want to hear the x0xb0x doing a bassline (and more acid), check this track out.
Played it when Billy Cosmosis was next to me setting up at Hill Top in Goa and he said, he loved the bassline and started dancing next to me Note that the VCO is free running and I must say that it makes the world of a difference on a big P.A.
It breaks the "rules" but I intend to break them some more in the future
Here's Lucas from TIP playing the same track at Hill Top again. It got played lots there this season. Nice to be able to hear your music in front of a big P.A.

did you boost the bass on that one? it sound really good
i really like free runing depending the riff when it hit the sweet spot it can sound great , except on speaker that dont have any low.. it can be disturbing .
about the mf103 it cut the highs like on the mf 108?

Not EQ boosting per se, added a Waves R Bass and set it at the sub frequency where the x0xb0x rolls off pretty steep. I just added a small hint.
Then slightly dipped around 450hz to get rid some of the 303 boxiness that you hear in old techno tracks, to make it fit in a "modern" psy-trance track.
I also sequenced this bassline from Logic, and added a MIDI gate to make the notes shorter than a full 16th. Then just recorded a chuck of the sequence, and looped the audio region.
The MF-103 is very different to the MF-108. First of all there is no mix knob, there is just the resonance knob to back off, or exaggerate the effect. But so far, in my ears it sounds slightly brighter, but could be that I got this because the sweep makes highs sound more prominent. Will investigate further.

Well the Virus sounds great through it. People were saying how good the Virus on board phaser sounds. Well, the MF-103, pisses all over it, but not just because its the expensive analog Moog phaser. To my ears Phase Mistress pisses all over the Virus phaser and is infinitely more programmable and runs circles in terms of sound design (minus the FM you get on the Moog Phaser) around the Virus and the Moog MF-103, put together.
the Virus sounds like much better synth through it all together.
Will try ES2 as well, I am sure it will make that come more alive, as long as the input gain is high enough
No I haven't used ESm in tracks. Been meaning to sample it and use it, but never got round to doing it.

soundtoys really make quality stuff ! now that i have analog fx to compare i can really confirm it ! compared to the mf 104 echoboy is only delay plugin i have that sound good, don t have the i m digital and sound cheap writed all over it.

Yeah Echo Boy is the bomb. Anything from Soundtoyz is top drawer stuff really. I tend to record raw Virus osciilators and do the filter with Filterfreak, which again sounds better to me than the Virus filters. Some times I go for the MS-20 filter plug in as well. Different flavor that I like having.
