and this one ! we called it the tractor , when kick bass come sound like driving a big tractor from the farm, dont sound as impressing as back in the day.. but still nice, it s maybe you tube ..
no, it still sounds pretty impressive. any tips for tech-trance KB? i notice a lot of kicks have both the psy oink (the initial pitch bend) and very full and deep body typical of techno kicks. is this typically done by layering 2 separate kicks or just very careful synthesis?
i've been obsessed with Triac's 'Mean Between' album for a while now and was actually sitting around analyzing their track 'Encrypted Session' last night:
there's a moment around 2:22 where you can hear kick and bass mostly in isolation. the kick sounds great to me, but the bass not as much, when they are playing by themselves. but in the context of the whole track, they just sound awesome to me. really deep and driving, but with so much character and grittiness. maybe that feeling comes from crunchy and distorted percussion that kind of morphs with the higher frequency elements of the bass line (maybe the stuff around 3-4K). i don't know what it is, but i just fucking love this sound.

Hey Fakso, nice vids, gonna look into it more, thanks.
Dream Vector by Sonic Entities - kb simple but work so good. The amount of low end is such... ah. Peach! And hatikwa track - like a trip back in time really.
x-dream/delta always were like ahead a little bit production wise
this also
and some techno stuff for a second, especially from 2:44

nice tunes you posted makus specially the first 2
new stuff sound flat and steril.. but clean..
a balance between the 2 would be good to me, clarity of some of today stuff with dynamic/depth /balls of old stuff

you can do via both i think.. but some drum synth / machine can use 2 different process for making attack and body..i think it s easier to get fat body that way.

damn that delta track such big oldschool classic , still love it.. this album was huge
there is a big difference in oldschool and today production with the way the sound are bandpassed..today a kick can go from highs to low for example while in oldschool prod often the sounds occupy a smaller frequency range ,narrower bandwitch .

damn would love to talk production with the X dream guys.. marcus posted a few times there if i remember..
if you have the bad luck to listen to much of this for some times good luck to come back to today sound.. it s less loud yeah but turn the volume knob to the max and see , there is some real depth and organic sound
and it s youtube 240 ,nothing like a vinyl with good amp and speakers...

PoM, sorry i cant get it too loud - it is night there and my 3 kids are sleeping. i still use my monitring @ around 58-60 dB spl so i guess it is fine for listening at nights
the track is utterly sick. did it 3 times fully. i never heard it before (now u envy me?). and that break around 4 mins man, psytrance best times was 96-99 and its gone.
kick is pretty indeed, i wonder if it a mixing thing to make it that prominent or tweakage. by itself kick is kinda narrow. its sound is actually typical to those times. but whole stuff sounds very good. precise, dence, tight. i wonder how i get aside from this tune back in the day

quick attempt at X dream style sound.. it s tottaly unmixed,no eq nada on single channels.. just my distressor and my culture vulture on the master and a eq band to remove a big mud in the mids ,drived too much for the bounce low end saturate ....
it s a quick try having fun.. kinda failed but i post it cause there is still something intresting in the sound..and i wonder what you guys think of it..next time i will make it more balanced like today stuff i think.. if you listen, push the volume.. it s low
