Hi guys! I need a recommendation from people with experience with hardware synths for ''best'' synth for psytrance production.
I must mention I already own a Virus TI, a Tetra and an Evolver.
So, I was thinking of a Nord Lead, a Slim Phatty, Blofeld or Oberheim OB 12, even a Nord Wave, though it's kind of expensive... I don't know which will fit better? GIve me ur opinions and thanks a lot!!
(about the Nord Lead...I understand that the 2 sounds grittier than 2x, but it looks like it's got some bugs plus no lfo syncing, so is it worth it over the 2x?) |

there is no one "best" synth but here are some budget solutions.
Analog: Roland SH-101, a Doepfer modular (that you can expand to your heart's content. A Sem Pro will also deliver if you want to spend some more...I would defo get that over the Phatty.
Digital: Nord Lead 1/2, very cheap but great sound. Do consider the Nord Modular as well, the Nord Lead sound with added modular capabilities.
I also have a Virus TI Polar which is a great workhorse, bread and butter synth, for psy-trance and techno. This is for me the best all round synth for psy-trance, since you have that you can select a synth that is more "special" to your taste.
Peace out.

Dude you have plenty of hardware.. just make some tunes!!! you don't need a 100000000 $ studio to make good music!
No need to make 1123123 posts about it.

have you think to invest into some other stuff than synth. the whole chain matter, synth eq comp saturator... i think i would buy a colorfull eq before any hardware synth these days,eq beeing the most used processor and software beeing good for clean chiurgical equing but not for adding mojo , it would maybe make a nice difference in your mix but it cost quiet a lot and not easy to integrate in workflow + you need good converters. |

The nordlead is, was and will be the 'swiss knife' of pystrance.
Perhaps no real analog, perhaps too digital, perhaps too clavia sounding, overused and no fx in it but a great and very very practical instrument for most of your psytrance needs.
