Ok, which vst was your favorite for drones?

I still keep coming back to Absynth, so that is the number one for me, followed by Massive and Toxic Biohazard!

There is a super-great synth for drones and some unusual background sounds - Atlantis, check it out, it's free. Use "Randomize" button =)

MS2000 + delay sent back to itself + properly applied reverb... Instant solar drones.

As goes for software, I'm place my vote on any VSTi by H.G. Fortune. That guy is a genius!            Aural transmissions from the deep forests of Sweden

A fart library might help, I think I'll get started and then make a sample cd out of the best ones...

Mic placement is key here! Make sure it's angled 5 inches away from your butt!           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic
