The best bass vsti is the one that mixes the best with the type of track you are making. So far for me it's been Alien 303, but I always try others.          http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

I m interested in bass too but there`s a tons of topics that you could have used to ask this question. This way the forum name will change to IsraBass

anyway i use ABL2 for bass i think it`s good but have much much more to learn           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

vb1?
i believe that a nice bass can be done in almost any vsti nowadays if you have enough patience and skills.
rapture is very nice btw. you can easily draw any envelope you need, which is great. it can be very tight and sharp.

personally i dont have virus, but i really like what can be done there concerning bass: very clean and tight, sits very well in track and easy to fit with a kick. what else to ask?

+1 and for the virus, you need nothing more indeed, once its tweaked properly the bass is there with minimum eq and the filter sound is so round, sounds always sweet

i tried recently sylenth1 in friends pc and tweaked a nice rolling bass, fat and stable its good vst and has the character of a "virus" bass sound (though not so sharp)
