Guys I'm looking to bring the power of cubase editing to ableton. So I need an audio editor that has all or most of the options cubase does. Scissors, glue etc, snap to grid on tempo etc... Thanks alot I looked at audacity as its free!

I'd rewire and record but for some stupid stupid reason rewire tracks are just like fx tracks or some shit they can't record or anything.          http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

Wavelab or Soundforge should be the best ones in this category.I think there is also Cool Edit and Acid although I haven't tried them.
They should have all this essential options for audio editing.
I dloaded Audacity yesterday,but it seems it's not possible to render with more than one plug in a time,or I'm blind.And apart of the nicely detailed freq analysis to 22kHz there are not really some real time measuring devices like some rms/peak meter or osciloscope for a phase-check etc .Couldnt even find any statistics.
Good free recorder though.

I am currently using soundforge 7 (the older one that doesnt require microsoft framework). I believe it lacks snap to grid options when selecting/cutting/editing etc.           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

TagScanner is my favorite. It supports basic tags such as artist, album, title, track, year and genre, and extended tags including composer, grouping, BPM (beats per minute), etc. Lyrics are shown below the album cover.

I dont use any external audio editing program i usualy manage everything in live

there are no real scissors but u have crop directly inside the clip and when in arangement view u can ctrl-e the part u dont want

glue = consolidate in live

and u can snap to the grid with warp markers (i know it makes artefacts due to streching sometimes but sometimes it sounds awesome) or u can let's say take a loop and slice it to a new midi track and then rearange it on the grid.

i know that maybe its better to do it in an external program but u can do it in ableton also

heh maybe im just lazy

You can set up a tempo grid in SF and snap your edits to it. Check the manual. Alternatively you can set up markers manually and snap to them.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

i use sf7, the last sf which doesn't support vst. i think it is the most convenient and easy yet powerful audio editor. it lacks key binds though.

The best audio editor out there imo is Pro Tools, I use it whenever I need to edit. May not be the best as far as midi is concerned, but for editing it is great!
It has all the features you mentioned and many many more!           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:
