alien303 makes a mean bass (a release for the envelope would make it even better)
bassline sounds good for acid riffs if you use the internal step sequencer
I find Phoscyon difficult but lots of people like this one the best

Thanks guys...some good ideas, I have Phoscyon and I can't seem to get it to make ''drive you crazy acid'' basslines with it...just deep and lacking clarity
I will try Muon Tau and Alien 303 and if all else fails I will buy a real 303 machine, and call it a day haha.

oh i have Rebirth to...your right that is a good one. Perhaps I should give that a try again and just use it for the 303, export the basses to like wavelab or something. |

I'm using an original TB-303 for ten years now.
I did side by side comparisons from most VSTs
My opinion:
Rebirth, Tau, alien 303 all suck. Nothing close to an original. Cool synths! but not good 303 clones.
Phosycon not bad, but the accents actually don't exist. (don't know the new version)
Audio Realism Bassline 2. the FIRST to do the "accents" right. Sounds pretty authentic in almost all settings except resonance 100% envelope 0% decay 100%.
Hear a direct ONE-TO-ONE comparison I did here:

When using effects and distortion the abl will not be spottet as a fake in a mix.
So in my opinion, no question: AudioRealism Bassline 2 (NOT 1!)

Nice comparison mate.
Owning a 303 and a devilfish I'd have to say +1 on the AudioRealism Bassline 2 (NOT 1!).
Heard most of the others too since rebirth but few convince.
