Kenji Williams & his extraordinary audio/video project- BELLA GAIA, will take place this Saturday 12/20/08 @ CRS.
Japanese cuisine prepared on-site by chefs will be preceded by a talk on wellness by a guest to be announced shortly.
BELLA GAIA (Beautiful Earth) is a project inspired by astronauts who spoke of the life changing experience of viewing the Earth from Space. Expressing the deeply moving beauty of planet Earth through the eyes of an astronaut, BELLA GAIA is a 'Living Atlas' journey through the world, visiting our natural wonders, cultures, and places, through high-end projections and live music & dance.
Award winning creative director and music producer Kenji Williams delivers an experience that evolves our perspective of, and connection to, our home planet. BELLA GAIA includes NASA/MODIS satellite imagery and stunning HD projections of orbiting visualizations of Earth from Space, plus earthbound imagery to explore our cultural heritage through sight and sound. Accompanied by a live performance of Williams' trademark violin-electronica music, BELLA GAIA takes you from orbital altitude to the depths of temples in Japan and pyramids in Egypt, with guest dance performer Lâle Sayoko. Experience the beauty and miracle of Planet Earth like never before in this one-of-a kind 'Living Atlas' show.
"BELLA GAIA is Just Beautiful. It really felt like I was back in space."
- Piers Sellers, NASA Astronaut, Spacewalker (STS-112 Atlantis, STS 121 Discovery)
"Bella Gaia offers a uniquely interactive presentation of the natural and human forces at work on our world.
Most people have never seen our world this way,... Bella Gaia is far more than a visual experience; it is a
powerfully imaginative, emotional, and cultural experience... The effect on the audience is profoundly moving"
- David Herring, EPO Project Manager, Earth Sciences Division, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (now with NOAA)
