Depends on what piece of equipment are U interested in. Don't fall to any generalizations... behringer had some good stuff over the years and some quite unique (like audio analyzer). Now days they have really good and affordable midi controlers BCR & BCF2000 with MACKIE emulation. If you tell me what R U interested in maybe I can tell you something.           "It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. what i was saying was, behringer in general is bottom end crap it is COMMON KNOWLEDGE and thats why they r affordable, and 2 sound engineers have told me to steer clear of it.anyone recommending behringer to you doesn't know what they're on about.MACKIE aren't much betta either apart from they're monitors which are not bad.but if you're after outboard stuff (eg compressors eq) they dont make hardware like they used to do anymore.and if your planning on sending stuff outboard you would need the dogs bollucks of of A/D D/A converters otherwise theres no point.

Look,
Behringer costs nothing, but I can say that you get more, than you pay. which doesn't mean what you get is good.

But it means that, if you are short of money and just need a mixer, that just "mixes" than you are very well with Behringer. It's a start and you won't get anything else for that price that sounds as "good".

But if you are looking after quality then Behringer is not the way to go.

The other outboard stuff they have... there are certainly plugins around that to a much worse job then Behringer comps or eqs.

But if you have voxengo or URS plugins you are already fine. you need hardware above 1000USD to beat that.

So what do you want to do?

I know people who do mixes with Behringer mixers (analog and digital) which sound very well. they are good in what they do and they fooled many people, who couldn't believe that it was mixed with behringer.
But it would definitly sound better on really decent mixers.

It's a question of what, for what, at what expense, and not of "good or bad".

They have a very good value for money, but since you don't have to spend a lot of money you can do the math.

The BCF, BCR-2000 are a very good deal in my opinion.           Most of my music for you to download at:

I agree with Subconsciousmind. I used to have a pair of Behringer Truth monitors and they were okay, but after a while i found that they lacked definition/resolution so i sold them. However, for the money they were very good. I also use a Behringer BCF-2000 motorized fader MIDI-mixer and i'm really satisfied with it. It's not crappy at all and i think that people are overgeneralizing when they say that all Behringer stuff sucks. You see, opinions are like assholes: everybody has one

I think behringer is ok for a starting point i have the truths for more than a year and when i bought them i couldnt complain, now its a different opinion, i need something better, more accurate.,i also have a mixer for soundcard monitoring (luna and ozone) and so far it does the job well. not the best piece of hardware but its ok while i save some money
