A friend is using the truths (the 2031A model i think) for a couple of years now and he's not at all happy with
them - lookin forward to changing them ..fast !
I suppose you can buy much better monitors in their price .. or adding a little extra cash
cheers

Why such a problem wich Behringer i have a pair of them and i pretty satisfied, it also depends on room acoustics, monitors don“t make miracles. For the price 2031a are pretty decent, i work in an audio shop/school and we“ve compared them with Alesis m one(fpr example) and Alesis sucthey have too much bass, far from being flat.
Im not saying they are great, but have heard a lot of people talk shit about em without having a technical explanation, just that they are bad, i ask why???? |

not having bass doesnt mean flat or good!!
behringers for me are far then accurate theyr lack of bass doesnt mean they are accurate or flat they have cheap sound and make cheap mixes you must realy know them by hart to make a decent min on them!
alesis are far better and i can live with the more bass!!

Well isent it always about if you know the monitors or not?
behringer B2031A i have, and my mixes are good - i would recommend everyone to get them for low boudget.
Alesis's bass is to muddy, and not tight at all.

to my opinion, Behringer sound is so massy you can't hear anything except the loud bass and distearb mid's, Samson sound more clear with the low and high and thay dont have mid, so thay sound softer (not proff..monitor but you can work with them)
you have great monitor allmost in the same price that sound better then the Behringer&Samson to my opinion, Roland DS give them a listen ...
and it's also depends on the acoustics room and the monitor placment that will give you better Picture of the sound.
My advice for you is to GO and LISTEN to them and make your own reference.
Good luck |

Look...
i heard the behringer monitors, and i think they have a prety nice round & fat sound for trance creation, and their high freq' was nice too.
also i saw the B2030A at a sound school in haifa (BPM)and told they are highly recommended.
but still, i can't over look that a few pepole i talked to said that they have a "digital / mechanical" sound...
i want to know if they are suficiant to creat a good equlaized track?

if youle see this monitor in this school so this meen thay sound's good, HELL NO!!!
the school choose them cuz they cheep and you can buy 3 sets of this monitor insted buying one Genelec (you have 20 ppl in one class)
Agree with orange-atropa:
"they have cheap sound and make cheap mixes"

Ridiculous thread, no facts just plain IMHOs with bashing opposite.
Everything depends, room acoustics, your ears, your brain, monitor placements, your placement..... and how you felt once you woke up the motning you listen.
Fact is simple Behringer have good amount of lows which is a mistake to mix on monitors like these. Since mixing is one of dominant parts of mastering and sound designing, you should reconsider your thoughts twise. Of course you can insert EQ on master output to reduce lows, even to make curve based on other monitors curve but again why to buy something you need to EQ while you can buy something that have normal amount of lows at the same time have quite balanced frequency responce graph.
Now my imhos
For price range you looking to 450$, i would advice to check second hand monitors, Tannoy. I don't like these but i don't like even more Behringer and Samson ones.
Of course you need to learn monitor and of course you can produce even with 20$ headphones hell of sound, although your are big boy and need to think yourself what will make you happy and what you need to buy. Listen to all options and buy the ones you like, because you need to work on them not ppl in here.
good luck |
