Well I searched all over the Web and didn't find nothing about how to correctly set up this MIDI controller.
I'm connecting it to my audio interface (Tascam US-122)vía MIDI, and the interface is connected to a PC vía USB.
My DAW is FL Studio, and I can't seem to make it work..
I would specially like to know how to configure it to control Sylenth 1 VST.

Hey there,

It's quite simple actually. I was in the same situation configuring my BCR2000 for ProTools by the same method as yours (by midi cables through the audio interface). I don't know if the BCN44 has a midi editor, but I guess it should. Anyway, find the Sylenth1 manual in the following link and read at point 3.4 for the midi control and the Appendix for the midi messages that control each parameter of the synth. Then, according to the values presented in the Appendix, you should configure your midi controller. Basically it should work.

Good luck!

Well, is your DAW receiving MIDI events?

To map a controller in FL Studio you right click the knob and select "link to controller". A popup is presented with many mapping options, and actually I really haven't found a DAW with so much at your disposal since! I just loved the formulas :::)

The issue with FL Studio (and most DAWs, if not all) is they have no control over an external VST's graphical interface, however the VST programming interface does define some nice communication mechanisms that allow you to have some interesting features. So, right clicking your knob in the VST interface doesn't show FL Studio's context menu, but you can do this: tweak a knob, and in your FL Wrapper (the window border around your VST interface), top left corner, there's a little arrow button, and clicking that shows a menu with the option "last tweaked parameter", or something similar. Going to this option will show the same "right click context menu" for the native VST knobs, but for the last tweaked parameter, and from there it's the same (link to controller..)

However, if you're having problems connecting your midi controller to your DAW, i.e. your DAW doesn't receive any MIDI messages from your controller, then the issue lies elsewhere in a configuration setting (assuming your equipment isn't faulty). Either in your FL settings you'll need to enable MIDI IN (and MIDI OUT if you want your DAW to control the equipment, to send new values for example) from your sound card. Also, since your equipment has both MIDI and USB, and being a Behringer, there should be an option to select which function mode you want to use. Typically you can only send either MIDI through the MIDI port or through the USB, not both (especially in such a low end gear). To set the mode, refer to the equipment's manual.
Also, I don't know your soundcard manufacturer, but maybe the driver's control panel might have an option to enable / disable MIDI? Just as a wild guess..

So, does any of these situations fit yours?
