What's G.A.S????           A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life.

orange u r killing me man!!!! Can't stop But keep it on please, and then i promise you the best time of your life when you come here

Anywayz, i went off topic so here's a serious question to you :

What was more difficult for you?

a) To built your pc and have it running smoothly even when pushed really hard OR

b) To "built" this amazing long goaty beard you have?

You are my idol, i was trying for years to get something like that but as it seems my chin platform doesn't support any descent beard installation due to very unstable direct hair drivers

my beard is running on windows longhair on an advanced and overclocked fatherboard.. and for the love of god its not goaty its a ram beard ddr4.

i can trade it for the hummels

i think its time for me to come to the nederlands.. but for ur disappointment the ram beard no longer exist do to a heavy data loss i had to format the windows longhair chin platform for a more stable but alot shorter windows shorthair lite edition.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

You should DEFINITELY come for a few days at least!!!!!

And there's great food too(knowing where are from

Especially there are some very tasty traditional dishes based on mushrooms

And since there's no beard - NO DEAL mate!!!

Hi, congratulations!

How do you connect the sound card to your monitors?

I have a indigo echo dj sound card would i need a better one to enjoy sound in those monitors?

I connect the sound card to my mixer wich is a xone 92, and then it outputs to the monitors, is it ok?

Are this monitors better? http://www.krksys.com/products_expose_e8b.php

What do you think about the new Klein & Hummel models?

Thanks

Thank you a212121.

In my case i use the Focusrite Saffire Pro 10 and i have connected its digital output to the digital input of the DAC1 in which the monitors are connected.

If you ever buy high end studio monitors in order to get the full potential out of them you definitely need a better soundcard than the one you have which it must have a digital output because the most important imho is to have also a separate da converter in the chain. This way you'll get 100% of what your da converter and your high end monitors can deliver.

The way you have your gear connected is ok. Only problem is that usually mixers introduce an audible amount of noise. Depending on the quality of the mixer again this can be of no importance.

I don't think that the Expose e8b are better from the O300s for two reasons.

1) They are 2-way

2) They are made in China(ok, 80% of everything is made there but if i'm gonna break the bank, excuse me but i'm not buying from China).

Which new Klein & Hummels models you mean exactly?

That's true PoM, i've done my homework regarding dacs.

In the end my options were the Benchmark DAC1, the Lavry DA 10 and the Mytek Stereo96 DAC, and they are all in the same price range.

After searching and reading everything i could find regarding these dacs, i ended up totally confused.

They were all very good based on the comments i was reading from people owning any of them or from people that had tested side by side all of them.

Each one was better to something and worse to something else, be it the overall sound quality, the connectivity and numerous other things.

Finally I came to the conclusion that whatever i'd choose i couldn't go wrong. So, i decided for the DAC1 because of its extra connectivity(2 headphone outputs and RCA outputs as well) and its really sexy looks(on the silver version).

Another plus point about the DAC1 was that it not only survived the hype when it was first introduced back in 2002 but it found a place in many pro ME studios.

On the other hand, having absolutely no previous experience with any dac and high end monitors, it wouldn't really matter which one i'd get as any of them would be a hugely detailed sonic upgrade to my "untrained" in this occasion ears.

Final conclusion is that when i'll feel that i know exactly what the DAC1's contribution is to the sound then i'll be ready to test side by side any other similarly priced dacs. And if i find any better then i'll change. If not i'll wait until and if i have the money to upgrade to the highest end of dacs like the Prism or Lavry Gold.

In any case if you get the DA 10 you will have made an excellent decision based on what i've read about it(everyone that compared it to the DAC1 said that the DA 10 is better).           A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life.

Thanks for the reply!

What are dacs? I was thinking Benchmark DAC1 was a soundcard lol

"because the most important imho is to have also a separate da converter in the chain"

!?!? sorry lol don't know what that means

EDIT: found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital-to-analog_converter

But if your soundcard outputs in digital, and your speakers have digital inputs... why do you need a "converter"?

Is "digital audio" really diffrent from normal soundcards\speakers with xlr?
