well... thats not true infinity.
when someone comes to me and says he wants a synth to play on stage folk music i want sell him a clavia nord modular.. i would suggest him a triton/phantom.

many equipment made in china are made there cos of cheaper work hands and not lesser quality. usually this goes to massively produced products mosto for consumer use.
all the brands u reffer on ur post are not made by millions.. maybe a couple of thousands so no need to do that in china its better to be able to made this equipment where the company feels better that the product will fullfill the quality of the price u pay!

well maybe, but i worked in a musicstore here in sweden and thats how we were "raised" to do, but about the China thing: ofcourse it alsow depends which company, but products developed in china don`t compare to stuff developed in Germany, England and then build in china! but it`s all getting better Thanx God!
But still if i had to choose between a Behringer compressor and a software, i would not take the Behringer compressor.....or should i say the Noise generator/Headroom killer

I came to one conclusion :

1. in 9 of 10 cases stuff that have this ugly label on the back that says Made In China, are stuff that will make your sound worse

2. there are just a few GOOD machines in this jungle and they are ACCESS- VIRUS,
CLAVIA- NORD LEAD 2,3,WAVE
MOOG- VOYAGER, LITTLE PHATTY
WALDORF (ALL OF THEM)
ANALOGUE SOLUTIONS -TBX303, LEIPZIG
AND SOME GOOD OLDIES!

Dont buy something that the saler in the shop
recomends, he just want to get ridd of it!!

This should be covered by the point "not going crazy by good marketing". I also believe that someone who understood the point of "slowly growing" gear would not make such a misdecision, Even after searching tons of reviews in the internet as adviced by the guide, something like that should be prevented successfully. I allready said that a lot of maschines out there are a pure waste of money.

Thanks to all for the reviews. I will ad some very basic info about software vst and interfaces. I was think about posting it on gearsluts or kvr finally.

Very nice of you Mantik. I think it's the best starters advice i've read. You've just saved a lot of people a lot of time and hassle.

Oh man, you're my hero

I started learning about production like 6 months ago, and I'm feeling that even though I haven't finished a single track yet and that lots of stuff seems very hard to learn, I've already went past the point where I could still give up, I don't care how long it'll take me, now that I'm contamined I'll never stop !

And it was great to see in your guide that this is apparently a good attitude : )

Thanks for that mate !

mmmm... well rewiews are not always the best
option....hehe made thoes mistakes aswell, i would say fell, and try the machine, and be critical.
In 9,5 of 10 cases i would say don´t trust the rewiews on the manufacturers website...
either!!!

Thank you for the text, is good to see persons that are human and share this experience to another ones, things that have a life time for learning can then be shared with more ppl in 5 minutes that's the communication power, you are cool respect, many ppl with knowledge never say nothing because "they don't have time to lose" or soh, respect

2.2 The internet is a great
There are tons of community-sites out there. Forums are great! On Youtube there are tons of video tutorials for every kind of technic or trick and even inspiration. Just search for it, you will find answers for everything. And read the manuals of your maschines by the way, you will wonder what functions you would miss even if you are a superpro.

bump for beginners.
