I was wondering if you have to have your track professionaly mastered before sending it to labels...
or send them your best mixdown...and if they like it and want to release it then they help you in the final mastering process?
thanks!! |

Well if you can get mastering for free go for it
But usually no, just send good mixdowns.

thanks guys!
On another note...how many tracks should be sent to a record label as demos?
1 track - your best one!
2 good tracks
or even more...?
thanks again!

As many tracks you think represent your sound and style
3-4 is ok I think.

send a self-made master("listening version")
if the label wants to sign the track, send the mixdown, too.
you can also send both of them with the first cd, too. if your mixdown sounds allready perfect, you do not need to edit a listening-master, if you only would destroy a good mix, maybe.
