I'm looking to start putting some songs online for sale, and I've been looking at a couple companies and programs.

Beatport is cool - I've noticed songs sell for $1.99 usually which is awesome compared to Itunes selling at $0.99. Why is there that big price difference? And is Beatport more popular for people who like psytrance?

I looked at Tunecore as well, which will put songs on Itunes, Amazon, and some other sites.

Do you guys think it's good to put the songs on Beatport and also use Tunecore? I just see it as if I can get a song on Itunes for $0.99 why would I go on Beatport to buy it for $1.99.

And anyone who has used these, where do your majority of sales come from - digital downloads or cd sales, and through which sites?

Correct me if I am wrong. But I don't think you can release tracks individually on those sites. You need a record company with a certain number of releases per year.

I vote for I tunes, contrary to Beatport they have the cover art right, Beatport has the wrong cover art for my ep, and that kinda pisses me off ! Furthermore they say my EP is from an Unknown Source, these morans...

Upavas how did you get your stuff on Beatport anyway? I'm thinking of maybe using both itunes and beatport.

You can release your tracks on itunes, even being unsigned. Apply to be a content provider.

hey man, i can put your music on a lot of shops worldwide including itunes, you aint gonna get much sales from one shop, even if its itunes or beatport
