I just bought the Echoes records compilation "Borderline" off of beatport and it only has 8 tracks! "Dirty Feelings (alter breed remix)" is missing

edit: Oh I see that it is missing because it is part of the "dirty feelings" single release, but it should still be included in the compilation!

You can still buy the single right? if it was included it would be the same price. Or did you get a discount for buying the whole compilation?           soundcloud.com/supergroover

Actually, I just discovered: The price for the compilation is actually $1 MORE than buying the individual tracks!

Buying "borderline" as a compilation gives you 8 tracks for $12.99

The tracks individually are $1.49 each, $1.49 * 8 = 11.92

If the compilation included that missing track, buying it would save you $.49, but as it is it costs you $1.07 more

Yeah but then you can't say "I purchased the album."

I have mixed feelings about Beatport. Sure, it has become the industry standard. It has provided a hub that is easy to use, and easy to search, to find new music for DJ's and enthusiasts worldwide. Arguably it has the most successful digital distribution scheme of all the digital retailers, and it accomplished this before anybody. Also, and this is especially true in the Club/Rave Techno, House, and Trance scenes, an artist's sales ranking on Beatport is a large determining factor in getting bookings worldwide. So I guess you could say that we would be doing the global psytrance scene a disservice by NOT purchasing our tracks on Beatport, in order to boost the global popularity. But I still dislike using Beatport personally. The samples of the tracks that it provides are never good quality or long enough to decide if the track is good or bad. Also, with the browser engine the site uses it's so hard to save links for later. I'm also well aware that the Beatport top 10 and favorites along the side bar are determined by who gives them the most money. The real gems, unless you know what you are looking for, stay buried. And of course, the price per track is kind of ridiculous for digital copies if you ask me. I wish it all went to the artists directly. Then we could have tracks sold for $0.50 each, and the artists would still make more than they do now. If I'm going to spend over $10 on an album, then I still want a tangible item in my hand (whether it's a CD, artwork, a case, etc.). So I don't use Beatport.           http://www.soundcloud.com/djKAHN
