Its been a while I see this 0.7 rule here, and I think most of ppl donīt know where is this number from...

I will make a quick explain, as itīs pure math:

Letīs say u play normally tracks between 140 and 144 bpm. As cdj works with %, all u need to know is how much % represent 1 bpm. And for this a math rule:

-FOR 140 BPM
140 bpm --- 100%
1 bpm --- x
x= 0,714%

-FOR 144 BPM
144 bpm --- 100%
1 bpm --- x
x= 0,694%

So it means that 0,7% is aprox 1 bpm at this range 140-144.

As u can see itīs not a magical trick.

yep! the "golden rule"...
for progressive (134-137), 0.8...

my 2 cents on chill out mixing:
I play in chill a lots and on a regular set i play songs from 60- 110 bpms. if you feel like beatmatching @ a chill out set, you need to know first if it is possible to sync 2 songs..
see, even dough a 60 bpm song and a 65 bpm song look pretty close, you better be ready for extreme pitch rides (and probably ruining the song) if you wanna mix them.
1BPM @ 60BPMs - 1,6%
5BPM : 5 x 1,6 = 8% !!!
yuk...

Some nice numbers for those who wanna mix chil - out:

FOR 68-72 BPMs ::: 1 BPM = 1.4%
FOR 74-78 BPMs ::: 1 BPM = 1.3%
FOR 80 BPMS ::: 1BPM = 1.25%
FOR 90-94 BPMS ::: 1BPM = 1.1%
and finally... FOR 100 BPM ::: 1BPM = 1%

one last thing... beatmatching chill out can be very stupid.
pants!

Simple math. What percentage of the bpm you are playing at is 1bpm? For example: 1bpm is 0.689% of 145.
