sorry may this be off-topic but I have read this others threads again and again and can't find any tricks or "real" tips for the begginers in the beatmix thing
for example :
http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/25884/forum/2
- this thread its the best of all four.. it contains very important facts about beatmatch the use of pitch, the harmonical mixing and all but I can't see any trick or tips mentioned
http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/47330/forum/2
- this one its simple a battle of ideias between spindrift and trip and dont provide uselful information for whos seeking beatmatch subject
the others 2 goes sames ways
I trying to say that I think in this particular case the use of the search dont came with so nice results
My advice ? its the same of varios others in this forum related to beatmatch go buy a pair o second hand cdjs or come close toa friend that have equipement to discover yourself the tricks !
its all in the ears !
but some good tips from who is in it for more time is really apreciated
especially i like to know what helen mentioned in this first link thread >> the proper EQ work
whats its better ? how to introduce right a track ?
cheers

Come on guys, give us some clues about the proper EQ use. Let's make this topic more useful.
How to deal with the high, mid and low frequencies of both tracks when introducing a new track?

practice and make sure you're sticking to the same volume level through the whole mix...
and for the rest...

EQ: the bass/mid/high that i want to be more present will always be turned open slightly more then the middle point. When a song is playing by itself that means that the 3 knobs are slightly over the middle point.
U can introduce a song in many different ways, but the most commen are to just cut the bass of the song ur going to throw in (cut real hard, not close entirely cuz that will sound bad, but don't hold back either), or cut the bass of the song that's playing (preferably 2 beats befor u throw in the new song). Always make sure that u time it correctly, that is much more important then the way u throw it in...
never, ever, and i mean NEVER open up both basses at the same time... U can switch them as much as u want, but one of them always has to be cut off. Same with the highs (ur hihats will go to war if u don't). With good mixes (songs that fit nicely together) u can leave both mids open no problem...
If u cut mids or highs, just turn the knob slightly below the middle point, for basss always cut a lot harder, untill ur close to the floor, but make sure ur mids don't start sounding thin!!
That's all the basics about EQ-ing in a mix... |
