The review:

After some fullon compilations, Digital Oracle decided to bring forth some progressive tunes too. Highway being the first, but it wasn't all that good really. Now there's Beat Delight and this was interesting enough for me to go and order. This one is even more progressive house oriented, so it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Now, let's go through it track by track.

Track 1: Beckers is on the move again and this groove is really good. Has this real proggy housefeeling going on, which can be very catchy. Pity about the awful vocal sample in it though. Not bad, but could've been a lot better IMO without the vocals and a more interesting lead. On to the next.

Track 2: "Fly with me" Brisker & Magitman are on the case, and those who haven't heard a track or two from these guys have probably been living under a rock. A bit slower than track 1 and more into the deep melodic kinda proggy sounds, just like you're used to from these guys. I like this. Nice melody and bassline.

Track 3: Ah, Shiloh. They did wonders on Son Kite's 'Focus' but after that I never really liked their tracks. Perhaps they're best at remixes. Anyway, Luke Chable has taken this very very average Shiloh track and turned it into a progressive monster. This is how remixes should be. A lot better than the original for me, that's for sure. He's ditched the awful vocal samples and did some nice work on the leadsound (listen to 7:30 and up) and excellent work on turning a breaks track into 4/4. Hehehe Luke's the man!

Track 4: FREq's been busy lately, what with releasing his new album on Iboga and remixing All Seasons from Frogacult twice Yes it's true, after FREq's third remix of the All Seasons track on the Back From Beyond compilation, now there's also the FREq's Slow Fat Remix of the same track. Nothing new here in comparison with the 3rd Remix, only this is somewhat slower and (you guessed it) fatter. Nice groove and more dark oriented than the 3rd remix. Great work by FREq and he shows us his capability of diversity in atmosphere. This is really deep.

Track 5: Beat Bizarre is up next and this sounds dry like cork. Hehehe But in a good way that is. Their trademark more quirky minimalistic kinda style, although fused with a little melody this time, some good percussion work and nice basslines. Pretty good.

Track 6: Time for more house oriented style again. Marc O' Tool shouldn't be an unknown artist for most people into progressive. Chriss Source is pretty known too. Together they've produced the funky hybrid Retrospective. It has a real fat funky groove and a big leadsound, especially around the 5 minute mark. Stomping and funky, this is a good track for the middle of a deep sweaty progressive set.

Track 7: Beckers at it again, this time as Space Safari. Much like track 1, only longer. Pretty interesting too, has a good buildup but is unfortunately again marred by some irritating vocals. "In peace, let's funk, cuz I'm the rhythm junk" etc. etc. Pointless. When will he learn? On to the next.

Track 8: Son Kite with their more housey sideproject Minilogue takes up the last track. It's Son Kite, but more laidback. Has an interesting leadsound, quite distorted at times, but it manages to pick up a good pace and delivers a solid listen, albeit more 'strange' than most of Son Kite's releases. That makes it all the more interesting however, and I for one am anxious to see what Minilogue's forthcoming album will bring.

Bottomline: There you have it, a pretty proggy compilation from Digital Oracle. As was the case with the previous compilation, the mastering could've been more clearer, instead it now offers a kind of dirty housefeel, which works on some tracks, but not all. Anyway, the tracks that work best for me are: 2,3,4,5,6,8. The only two tracks that didn't really do it for me were the Beckers tracks. So, pretty solid overall, and a worthy purchase if you want some more progressive tracks.

Good and acurate review Acidhive!

At last ! the mastering from this label is OK, and this is note worthy.

The Minilogue is another great piece of music and another teaser from the Swedish masters : minimal electro style with filtered kick, light distort, scratchy sounds à la James Holden, simple captivating melody, beautiful harmonies, superior production.... The time has come for the album (CD+DVD) Seb and Marcus!!!
The girl from Botany bay should be honoured with such a sweet track. Too bad there wasn't the room for two Minilogue tracks as planned originally!

For some reason, I prefered the voices in the first Becker's output. These two tracks might not be to everybody's liking, unless they dig the cheese. But nevertheless, some serious groove here.

The rest is mostly prog house oriented, and is useful for cross overs.

Another fat rmx from Freq of the Frogacult classic.

Intersting compilation anyway.

Yeah, it depends on mood too. Yesterday I was in a different mood and thought track 7 was pretty ok. Now I think track 1 is more to my liking. Anyway, a solid compilation and I hope this label will continue in this way, ditching the full-on for this. There are way too many full-on labels anyway.          "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."
