im wondering ive tried a couple variations. what is the beat pattern! does it start with the kick (kick hat snare on kick) or should i start with (hat, kick, snare on kick) do you know what i mean cause when i start the sequence with the kick it just doesnt flow as how i would want it to

There are several topics for this.
K - - - K - - - K - - - K - - -

Basic goes like this...
K=kick S=snare o=openhat h=hat t=tams
of course you have to vary for groove... also velocity and dynamics of the percs will give you different flavors.
