If the scientific method was closed minded -- clinging to a desired conclusion and rejecting ...whatever might be learned through experimentation -- science would not exist at all. Science is the learning process. To practise science, you must be willing to accept whatever you learn. If you're not willing to accept an answer you might not like, you should not even ask the question. If that's your preference, fine; but don't accuse those who do ask of closed mindedness."
