Hi guys,
i keep hearing that the bbe sonic maximizer has a beautiful effect on basslines. what can i use thats just like it on a macbook pro. i have an intel computer and really would like to use something to contour the bassline nicely and give it some meat!

URS BLT Eq is similar to the BBE, i dig em both though. Used sparingly they can get great results.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

Smile EQ - more characterful the better...

... try digital fishphones transient modeller too... (this is free)

bascially, it smears phase.

And when you get down to the nitty gritty of what that means, it gets increasingly clear that its very closely related to EQ, because that is all that non-linear EQ is - phase manipulation and addition of that phase manipulated signal back into the original.

Why doesn't anything sound quite like it? Well, for exactly the same reason that every EQ sounds a bit different! Its a different filter model.

BBE sonic maximizer is available as Audio Unit (UB).

Thanks TRIP, i guess they just put it up, checked a couple of weeks ago. 129.99!!! thats way too much for something like that but if its really worth it ill try to get a discount on it from the company itself, unless you guys have better alternatives?
