hey guys, i just really discovered the power of battery! wow!
i have to issues though that i couldnt solve on my own...
1) the articulation, echo, humanization, etc page; none of those are workin. when i turn them on nothing changes in the sound...and next to articulation where u click on flam or watever, it doesnt say anything for the knobs it just says dynamics for the both of them. does anyone no how to get these sick features to work.

2) how do i set up ableton live to only open one instance of battery BUT be able to put different effects on different drum parts in ableton. i.e. Use ableton's fx plugins to process each individual drum part.

thanks for anyone who answers any of these.
cheers           saii.rave.ca

I can answer part 2 of your question. I use Battery 3 in Cubase.
Its fairly easy. Just click on the cell you want to work with. Click the CELL tab at the bottom the vst screen. On the right hand side you`ll find the output section. Click the CHANNEL tab and this will enable you to group tracks for effects etc. I set Battery 3 with 12x Stereo tracks and 8x mono tracks. You can change this in the File\Options menu.

Then it is just a matter of setting up which samples you want to send to which output.
Eg: Cells 1,2,3 to Stereo 3/4 and cells 7 and 8 to Stereo 7/8.
In Cubase I would then either make a group or effect channel with the effect I want and send the selected Battery Output channel to that Effect or place an Effect directly on the output.
What version of Battery are you using?
I hope this helps.

in cubase it creates the required channels by itself, but in live you have to do the setup manual:

just call the MIDI channel where the Battery VSTi sits within: Battery 1/2 ...

then add 7 more audio channels. call them Battery 3/4, Battery 5/6, Battery 7/8, Battery 9/10, Battery 11/12, Battery 13/14 and Battery 15/16.

then make the settings for these channels:
Input Type ... Audio from: Battery 1/2
Input Channel ... according to the name you gave them before.
Monitor ... Select IN for them

optional you could add another channel called Battery Out ... where you route them to ... and from there to Master out.
this way you are about to control the volume of the sum from the mixer interface.

now you are able to hear other outputs than channel 1/2 ... and drop FX into them, too           http://www.myspace.com/realtimeproject

try changing the *global groove amount*
(between the signature and the metronome).
should have similar effect like humanization.

about the articulation i have no clue ...
maybe check out the manual for this feature
(or analyse the settings from the demo kits).

i guess there is maybe be some envelope bound to this ...
you could load a demo kit, save it under another name
and then replace the sample in the cell ...

select your desired cell, go to the box under your volume slider in the bottom right, choose your output.
create audio channel, choose the batter output you just set your cell to as the input of this audio channel. apply your efx to these individual audio channels.
it's very very simple, just use your eyes and take YOUR time.

i didn't misunderstand. you just need to choose different
output channels for the cells ... and setup like i wrote.
you need this channels in live to add the FX there ...

and if only output 1/2 plays on all the channels ...
you probably have forgotten to set the input channels.

the routing is like:
Battery: cell -> output channel ->
Live: input channel -> FX -> master out

100% tested and working like this           http://www.myspace.com/realtimeproject
