the most important factor other than the vst u use is how u create the patterns...there's a very nice tutorial on basslines on the cosmosis homepage....... psychedelic basslines usually follow the fullon pattern i.e. 'kBBBkBBB'also bringin in some variation in the notes adds some vibes to the track

kbbbkbbbk...play with bass notelengths...bass velocity (60 100 100)............eq , cut high ,boost mid.......compressor..........add some of this(Maxbass) and that(Rbass) etc. to enhance the sound.......then keep on tweaking untill you're happy!

Happy Days!

i never understand the use of rbass and maxbass in a bassline they are both eq's in a different guy !

i think plain eq can do the job if used properly!

I'm sure no one feels like emailing you..

But what tools are you using now to make your basslines to start?

orange-atropa, Rbass doubles the low frequencies one octave above the original sound. It is nothing like an EQ.

There is not only one perfect way to follow to make the perfect bass...there are plenty...it's a matter of preference...don't limit yourself.......use all the tips and tools you can get....then be patient(extremely) and tweak the hell out of everything until you find something you like and not something that sounds like somebody else.....using and training your ears are more important than ANYTHING else......good luck,it does take some time!!!

Happy Days!
