Can someone please suggest the best free VST/AU plugin to create a bassline for MAC OS.
I am running Cubase SX3 on a power mac with leopard.

Thanks.           "Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth."

why are u searching for a bassline vst? there are tons of possibilities. any vst with fast enough envelopes should do the job.

anyways, for bassline try alien 303, tal bassline

or just give zebra a try, its a really versatile synth i like for bass cause u can adjust the envelope speed and its just great sounding

also i can recommend surge vst, really authentic synth with good envelopes and great sound not only for bass.

u see there are a lot of possibilities. im working on a mac too and love the last two ones for bass (surge/zebra)...

at least tal bassline is for free and i dunno about alien 303, i got it, but dont know if it´s free. google is your friend mate, type it in and the first few results should give you some links to down it

enjoy music, cheers

I made 1 track with that alien 303 thing ... I dont realy like the sound of it .
All lame Presets also with stupin names like dark psy and what not , psytrance is not supposed to be cookie cutter.

Take a synth low freqs and 16th notes :
Kick-bass-bass-bass-Kick-bass-bass-bass
How hard is that?
Work the bass notes up and down to give movement and carecter and your off.

I use ES-1(from Logic) bass samples in a Halion sampler in Cubase, less work for CPU and sounds great!           \\\"Invoking the inner dancing buddha with future frequencies from beyond\\\" ~GyPsy

+1 on ES-1 samples if you're on Cubase. I use ES-1 in Logic like there's no tomorrow.
