I often notice that with certain bass a shift in note will get some power off the bass i gess its the lack of frequencies suddenly being removed in the region of 100hz that produces that fx.
On other basses you can shift note and have a much smaller impact.

What would be interesting, is to find out why a certain bass design react a certain way.

when you shift note a change is inevitable but I think the real solution is within the design of the patch.
there is got to be someone here who has a good idea on the subjet .......

maybe its about modifying the NOTE PLAYED LIN by linking it to something like filter release or something?

shift the note obviously shift freqs.. i cant see whats the problem... isnt that the point of melodic bass ??

if anything , i expirience with the years the opsite : bass that get too dirty on some notes specialy b and c , cause their punch is focused on 123hz and 130hz which is for some strange reson just way too boomy and muddy and ugly frequency imo...

so try harsh reducuction of 125h.. should work perfect to avoid over bass. if u lost all the power just add rbass/maxbass/bassboost after cleaning , u get your power back and still clean melodic bass

1 more genious extreme clean bass thingy : X-hum by the name , is what it do !

thanks tsabeat. i'll give it a try tomorrow, the problem was that when i started to make a bassline, in only sounded good on whatever note i made it on and thin when i shifted it. i always find that b and c are too low down and very gravally aswell. thanks.

theres a paragraph on
http://www.modcam.com/emusic about this subject,
it says compression can solve it.

yeah also compressor can help , but make sure u fixed velocity brfore turning to compress..

also overcompression is main problem today with some artists... no life in music is worse then lower volume (rms) dont forget peaple have volume knob at home as well.
