Hi guy's as the beginner I am, I'm always trying to improve my skills. Latly I have been trying to make basslines with sylenth1 instead of vb-1 or the muon tau.

But I like the higher pitches or tones than the lower ones. As I stated before in other posts I have just started doing music

I hope some of you guy's can give some constructive critisism on this one I made today.

The kick is a sample from the bank many isratrance members have their stuff (this one is called gataka 1, thx for the kick btw ). The kick is not pitched for the bassline nor is the percussions. The vocals are from elecrypnose. And the cymbals from vengeance.

Sounds pretty good man. I did notice one thing. There is a third lower note that sounds a bit louder than the others. Kind of stands out like a sore thumb. Lowering the velocity on that note might help or try applying some compression. I'm no blue name but either of these methods seem to work OK for me.

The tone/pitch is fine.

blue names don't always know better

I enjoyed that clip, and one of the parts that made up the whole good experience was the bassline. Keep it up. Weird sample too! go!!

oh, theres a little bit jsut b4 the bass kicks in where the kick coming in from the low pass filter gets a little bit too resonant against the bass - just before it drops in. this is a detail you might pick up later... yum have fun!!!!           http://www.reverbnation.com/thecontrolzeds

Although I also consider myself as a beginner (after dealing with music over 4 years), here is my opinion.I think you got a great, pumping as hell bassline, but I think your kick needs a bit of work or in other words, I think the bassline is a bit too loud compared to your kick.Grae fx on the vocal too!!!Keep it up dude!!!           www.myspace.com/antlabros

Thx Guy's I will take your advises and keep working on them.

I will fix the lowpass filter in the beginning as you said Andrew it sounds bad, but a little tweaking tonight will hopefully take care of that

And the Kick volume will be adjusted. Aswell some experiments with the velocity on the bass.

Thanks again to all of you:D

A good start for you to experiment (as beginner) is this:

You have a kick every 1/4 note
1/4 note = 4x 1/16th note
Bass on 2/16, 3/16, 4/16
Snare on 2/16, 4/16
Hihat on 1/16, 2/16, 3/16, 4/16

Now move drum sounds around to experiment, and see how different placements sound together... use your imagination!

hey that kick bank is one that comes with 20 kicks i think, the ''tsakicks''? If not can you post a link to it?           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``
