Remember that next time you respond to someone asking a simple question.
shamantrixx, I have to quote you back at you and you might understand some of my posts a little better: "Sometimes the only way to wake up a person is a "slap in the face"."

Appology accepted.
I must admit that I might have overreacted a bit on your post about "Another Junya". I still think it was pointless and rude and misses the educational idea of this forum.
As ess765 points out, we shouldn't give exact settings as answers but that doesn't mean we can't help out people that have less experience than us.
And I still believe that one of the best ways to learn is to copy the ideas of the masters that came before us untill we have enough knowledge and understanding to do our own thing.
We can't help it if someone doesn't want to make the effort to really learn. All we can do is provide any help that we can. After that, it is out of our hands.
That doesn't mean we should automaticly assume that someone asking a question has no intention of learning!

Undertow,
with all my respect concerning some nice knowledge you have for music, I d say that your political and filosofic views are can't even begin a discussion with shamantrixx. Everytime the subject was not music his points are 1 000 times deeper and correct than yours.

Hi,
Wow, what a thread
I personally like individual, original music, For me personally it is the only kind of music worth spending time with. Because I like to get to know the deepest of another artist. I like to be touched by music, and thats only possible if it's really soulful, heartfelt and therefore automaticaly unique.
BUT!!
I think it is perfectly ok to copy someones bassline to learn how to achieve a certain quality.
To copy someones craft doesn't mean to copy his art.
Actually it is impossible to copy a style of ones ART anyway.
So if someone copies craft, and then lets his music stay craft (which makes it unoriginal, ununique) the problem was not the copying, but just what this musician wants to do.
Its the musicians decision if he brings himself (who obviously is unique) into his music and makes it unique (and exposes himself, which many rather don't), or if he just likes the craft.
It has nothing to do with copying a bassline, or just wanting to know how one is done.

That s all I wanted to hear. Since I wrote this, you are the only one to even mention it.

To investigate what and how others do is ok, but since they re own creativity is also stimulated. Let s not help lazy robots to become music producers.
Everytime I listened or read pre made answers and just followed it to have a result, in 5 minutes I couldn t repeat that result.
Everytime I tried to acheive something by my own, with general information or help form another people I learned for real how to operate those hardware. After trying and tweking I could not only repeat that program or setting but understand how the hardare works so that I could even use it to different applications.

I think we can help him much more by showing him the tools and stimulating him to try, to make mistakes and really learn. If someone doesn t want to make the effort to learn we can simply help him on his way of not to learn by not giving him answers. If we answer him we d be taking him off his chosen idea of not learning. A lot of questions at this forum have never had answers. Sometimes that s cool.

To learn, as you said before, needs effort and commitment. I see a lot of lazy guys out there that had never read a book about audio, never had classes, never read anything at internet. They build a warez computer system, ask for ready to go formulas to sound like artists that did everything the lazy didn t. I personally don t have nothing against them, but I won t help the lazys. I d help with all my efforts anyone really commited in the learning process, cause that s what I always looked for during my learning process: help to walk by my own legs.
For me its more important to feel the effort in galactic monkey to really learn than ask shamantrixx to prove if he can or not produce a single track. Cause galactic is asking for help.
I hope Undertow and shamantrixx get along despite any previous anger comments;we can have a small example here of how words can be helpfull and peace can be achieved no matter how different are anyone s point of view. That s what any slobodan in the world never understood: people are different, but everyone deserves respect.
Cheers for everyone.

I fell that we should have more than 13 monkeys in this thread alone and maybe few other animals also
