EQ
Compress or Multipress
I wouldn't go for reverb... |

Some tips on basses,
Play with the note lengths, different lengths on individual notes can make a nice groove. and to tight it all up just have a very short note lenght, a midi gate can be of use here aswell.
Boost and cut around in the low frequencies, sweep through some bands and listen where the root frequency is, and other sweet spots. try to find that omph but dont boost it to much(subtle is best), also make sure you make room for the kick to pump out all it´s frequencies, if they clash you will get a distorted sound, so decide if the bass is going to be the phat one, or if it´s going to be the kick.
if the baseline is to clicky you can try to cut some high frequencies, try to balance it so you get all the important frequencies to stay and those nasty energy consumers to go, around 20hz can be good to cut, but all to their own. it all depends on the sound source and what you are after. but it can be good to remember if it´s going to be played in PA system.
and this is of choice, but a good compressor to power up the low amplitudes and tame the dynamics. making it overall loud and if correct done, balanced.
the most usual baselines jumps between 2 octaves,
like Simple C1-C2.. well you got lots of options =)
and for ultra simple but very usable baseline, put one note between every kick note. *=kick _=Bass
* _ * _ * _ * _
work hard and one day you will have a solid baseline;)
just some easy advice, i hope it wasnt too basic.

if u want deep solid bass try layering an eq'd kick underneath the bassline (need to be a certain type of kick)

velocity and midi length. go simple for sounds (1 osc, saw tooth or square).
