man... whatever program u are using.. make a loop in 1 bar... add kick 4/4 means 4 kicks in one bar.. kinda like "du ... du ... du ... du"
then go to the bass... whiever one u are using.. vsti or midi... and add notes in there.. try 1/16 noets for the really rolly bass's...
u can also add delay to make it sound running...
just expiriment as A said!
but the best is dont try and copy be original and get your own bass sound and lines |

jeto said to put delay on bass and billy says do not put delay on bass!
delay will make things less clear which is good for sound fx but not for bass who has to sit good

true, if it were normal delay, i would definitely agree
however i get good results on some running basslines by using the ohmforce ohmboyz filter-delay. set to a reasonably high cutoff on highpass mode (eg, 700hz-1khz) it does not reproduce any actually "bass" frequencies, only the top end of the sound (which is usually all "pop" and "definition"). the effect is to add more rhythmic feel to the bass pattern (especially funky if u choose a 3/4 delay time) without adding any mud or confusing the actually NOTES... its somewhat comparable to the way a slap bassist adds non-note rhythm events by tapping between slaps.

solipt1c.. you are on the right track...
this is very similar to what i was talking about...
delay on bass sometimes can sound excellent.. depends on how you do it.. With OhmBoyz u can sync it to the BPM.. so it sits rather well.. specially if you have something Like
K-B-K-B-K-B-K-B

I still rather use clean bass and the ohmboyz delay on other parts to create da atomsphere sounds but it sounds like solip and jeto knows what they r doing so the argument is over and were both cool!
