Why does the bass lose it's power and shape in lower frequency area when pushed down/up a note?

what do you mean? you say a specific note is more powerful than the others? maybe your room acoustics give u that feeling at a specific frequency because they enforce eachother           :O!

because the note is related to certain freq. The higher up you go on the keyboard the higher freq you will get.
C5 is like 440 hz or something. So you go up the freq scale with higher note           .

And what do we do to prevent this?

Automate ADSR and cutoff? L0L            http://soundcloud.com/li-fe

I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

You have to think what you have on your bass!
For example, if your filters have little or no tracking then their settings will not follow the bass and you end up only sounding good on the note you were in when you shaped the filters.

Another thing is if you have eq, attenuators, warmers, etc, their settings will also not follow the bass and you end up with the same problem!

Best thing is when you are shaping your bass, use a busy pattern were there are lots of note variation.

Kick N Bass Gel will have harmonic equalizers/attenuators that follow the bass harmonics, you can try that when its released!

You can make a balance on your mix! or separate each note per channel and eq it in a different set of volume or process, or you can bounce the part that needs volume and manually add some dbs o eq it as you like .!

440Hz is an A4 note

btw i think here is just room acoustic issue. did you feel same "problem" on headphones?

+1
It's a bit of a pain to do that but it is certainly a solution!

You can also automate the eq but its not a cpu friendly task to have it change at every note but its a good solution if you allways have your bass in, lets say G and then change it to allways be in A.

What Alien Bug said can also be the problem!           http://www.MindDoctorsMakeAcid.com

What did you touch ?
There is a problem if you use am and fm and adding sines u can get bass boost at higher notes but turn it down in pitch down then it can go to a not audible zone. Many things can happen.           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

I tried with headphones and the difference is barely noticeable so it seems the problem is-room accoustics. My room is tiny at the moment and I use a sub so that's that...Tnx guys...

ok. so in this case does not compensate volume of each note. i used to do years ago, now I know it was a huge mistake. i interviewed with friends, every bass note played in a completely different volume and it sounded at least pathetically

tip: many producers use headphones for work with bass           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450
